Recordings and transcripts

Understand when recording starts and how to review the interview afterward.

Signal interviews provide a recording and transcript for the hiring team. The pre-join page tells participants: “This interview is recorded and transcribed for the hiring team.”

When recording starts

Recording and transcription start automatically once two participants are in the room. This can include two interviewers preparing before the candidate arrives.

After the call, processing makes the recording, transcript, and AI recap available for review. They may become available at different times.

Where to find the interview evidence

Open My Interviews → Past interviews → Review & scorecard, or open the candidate's Interviews tab and expand the conversation.

The recording and transcript are grouped together when available. Open the transcript to read the conversation; use the recording to replay it. Where a supporting quote has a linked timestamp, select it to return to that moment.

An expanded interview shows the transcript beside the team's scorecards and AI review brief. This example has no recording attached.

Share with your team

On the Interview feedback page, select Share beside Rejoin interview to copy the page link. Teammates sign in with an account that has access to the interview. Each assigned interviewer can update their own scorecard.

Read the AI review brief

The AI review brief highlights strengths and concerns from the conversation. Expand Review details for the fuller recap and assessment evidence.

Use that evidence when discussing the interview with the team. Each interviewer still records their own recommendation and assessment ratings in a scorecard.

If the recap is not ready

Preparing recap… means the interview is still being processed. Recap unavailable means a recap is not currently available for that conversation. Recordings and transcripts appear only when available, so an interview may not show every item.

You can save your scorecard while processing continues. Return through Past interviews to check the evidence later.
